Day 8
Scripture: Matthew 3:3 — “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight paths for him.”
Clip: Raising Jairus’ daughter
Reflection:
“Preparing the way” often means silencing the voices of chaos and despair. When Jesus arrived at Jairus’s home, it was filled with the noise of professional mourning, of “it’s too late.” His first act was to clear the room. To find peace, we must first “put them all outside”- the voices of doubt, the noise of the crowd, the finality of our fears. Peace is found only in the quiet room where Jesus speaks..
Prayer:
Lord, my heart is a crowded, noisy room. The voices of fear and regret are loud. Give me the authority to “put them all outside.” Prepare a way in my heart by silencing the chaos, so I can hear Your quiet, life-giving word: “Talitha, cumi.”
Practice:
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you one area in your life needing “straightening” Take one practical step this day toward reordering it.
From the Catechism (CCC):
“By his cross and his resurrection, Christ has reconciled us with God and made us sharers in the divine nature and in his mission of reconciliation.” (CCC 2305)From YOUCAT:
“Peace is the consequence of justice and the sign of love put into action. Where there is love, there is peace.” (YOUCAT 230)
