Day 18

Scripture: Psalm 16:11 — “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy.”

Clip: Jesus heals the bleeding woman

For twelve years, this woman lived in the shadows, ceremonially unclean, barred from the “presence” of God and others. She wasn’t seeking joy; she was seeking a desperate, anonymous cure. But Jesus doesn’t just heal her; He stops for her. He calls her out of the shadows and into His full presence, face-to-face. He calls her “Daughter.” The healing fixed her body, but His presence restored her soul and gave her the fullness of joy.

Lord, I often settle for a “touch of the fringe.” I hide in the crowd, hoping for a blessing without a relationship. Stop for me. Call me out. I don’t just want healing; I want You. Bring me into Your presence, face-to-face, and fill me with the joy that only comes from being seen and named by You.

During a walk or commute, invite Jesus to accompany you. Notice any stirrings of gratitude, hope, or awe as you move.

From the Catechism (CCC):
“To live by hope means to let God’s love predominate in our lives.” (CCC 1820)

From YOUCAT:
“Joy is the echo of God’s life in us.” (YOUCAT 300)
