Day 4
Scripture: Lamentations 3:22–23 — “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning.”
Clip: Two by two
Reflection:
God’s mercies are not always grand, solitary miracles. One of His greatest mercies is companionship. He sent the disciples out “two by two” because He knew they could not bear the weight of the mission, or the waiting, alone. His “new mercy” this morning may be the profound, simple gift of a friend, a partner, or a community. We are not meant to do this journey in isolation.
Prayer:
Lord, Your compassion is great. You did not send me out alone. Thank You for the “other” You have placed in my life. Help me to see them as Your new mercy for me this morning, and help me to be Your mercy for someone else who feels alone.
Practice:
At the close of each day, list three small blessings you observed – moments of kindness, provision, beauty, or encouragement.
From the Catechism (CCC):
“From the very beginning man is invited to a hunger and thirst for God: this is his ultimate beatitude, to see God ‘face to face.’” (CCC 1719)From YOUCAT:
“In hope, man already shares in the love of God who calls him to eternal life.” (YOUCAT 473)
