Day 2

Scripture: Psalm 27:14 — “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

Clip: Jesus loves the little children

Waiting can feel like standing still in the dark, uncertain if God will show up. Yet the children who ran to Jesus showed a different kind of waiting; open-handed, unguarded, trusting that love will meet them. Courage doesn’t come from control but from release. It’s not the adult kind of strength that clenches its fists, but the childlike kind that reaches out for the hand of a Father who is already near.

Lord, my waiting is often restless and anxious. I grasp for answers and proof instead of reaching for You. Teach me to wait like a child—hopeful, expectant, unafraid. Give me courage not to fix everything, but to trust that You are already on the way.

Today, take five quiet minutes simply to wait with God. Sit still, breathe slowly, and imagine yourself as a child resting in Jesus’ presence. Let His nearness, not your effort, be your strength.

From the Catechism (CCC):
“The desire for happiness is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw man to himself.” (CCC 1718)

From YOUCAT:
“Hope is based on the promises of God and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It sustains believers in hardships, strengthens them, and opens them to life beyond this world.” (YOUCAT 472)
